North To Alaska
We boarded early, before noon, since this was our first cruise, and we didn't know how long everything would take. As it turns out, we need not have worried. Check in and boarding were quick and effortless. We sat around, enjoyed the boat, watched a movie and had several very pleasant hours on the boat, awaiting our departure.  We were in our cabin, when suddenly the dock began to move outside our window. We were off! The boat made something like 20 knots, once outside the harbor. We, of course, had to go up top, and watch Seattle fade off into the distance. Our entire first day would be spent traveling up to Alaska - there would be no stops. We departed on Saturday afternoon, and did not make our first land fall until early Monday morning.
