| The Marion rest area is closed, as
of now,but remains standing. With its demise, the number of
Wisconsin rest areas drops from its high of 32 now down to
28. Rest areas close for a number of different reasons.
Traffic and use may no longer justify the cost of leaving
them open, or other, commercial, .facilities may have sprung
up making them no longer needed. Marion appears to have
grown and to offer services such that a rest area here is
redundant. I plan a trip to take what ever photos are
available. Though I may not be allowed on the grounds, I do
have some long lenses. More photos coming
